Hello! I’m Raven
Wife, Mother, & Homemaker
My name is Raven. I was born and raised in Central Texas and currently live in the Waco area. I married my husband, Jason, in 2010 shortly before he joined the Navy. We had our first daughter, Sage, in 2014 and our second daughter, Willow, in 2019. Our family includes a German Shepherd named Orion and two silver tabbies named Ruby and Nova.
I’ve been a homemaker for over a decade and have 6+ years of blogging experience under my belt. We are currently going through the process of going debt free and hunting for the perfect parcel of land to build our forever home on to start homesteading properly.
I created this blog to chronical our journey into the world of homesteading while also sharing my knowledge as a homemaker and a homeschooling mother, while also improving upon my skills further. I firmly believe that you can never “finish” your learning journey and that it’s important to always work on your self-improvement.

These are a few of my favorite things…
- All I’ve ever wanted to be growing up was a homemaker like my grandmother was. I also wanted to be an author, though not as a primary profession.
- I read like it’s my job, which it kind of is. I run a book review blog called Bookish Diaries.
- I love to cook. If I had wanted to study for any sort of a proper job, I think I would’ve wanted to go to culinary school. I just wish it didn’t make billions of dishes to wash.
- We had always considered the idea of homeschooling, but I didn’t think that I would be able to do it. When the pandemic hit and our school district had a disappointing plan for handling the illness, we decided to jump into it. I will never go back! I hope to homeschool through high school, but plan to go through the elementary levels at the very least. I love spending so much time with my girls and they love the dedicated learning time and flexibility.
- If I could have any superpower, I would be torn between choosing teleportation and telekinesis. You’d think that as an introvert I would prefer invisibility, but that doesn’t appeal to me. I like the idea of being able to travel wherever I need in a flash, or moving things with my mind.
